DR IAN ROSS

BSC DVM

Ian and his partner Laura (also a vet) have lived in Christchurch since 2007. Ian graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1999 (PEI is famous for it's Potatoes, Lobster, and Anne of Green Gables). On his way from Canada to NZ he worked for a year in Connecticut USA, 3 years in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, USA and locumed for 3 years all over Scotland and England.  He met his partner Laura near Inverness, Scotland. Three years later they travelled to NZ with multiple animals and have decided to stay. Ian worked at the After Hours Vet Centre here in Christchurch for 8 years.  The importance of offering pain relief to ill and injured animals is why he became a vet and that remains as his passion to this day. Ian feels strongly that cats have very different needs from dogs especially when injured or unwell.  This is his first time working in a clinic without barking dogs and he's loving every minute of it (and he's loving being part of this great team too).

KATHY AIRNS

RVN

Kathy graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from Unitec in 2006. After completing her training and with a new-found passion for critical care nursing, she spent 10 years working at an emergency/critical care veterinary clinic, whilst also working the last 5 of those in veterinary nursing education.

She is a member of the Allied Veterinary Professional Regulatory Council and sits on the Professional Standards Committee, which is giving her the opportunity to participate in something that will hugely benefit the veterinary profession.

When the opportunity arose to work in a feline only clinic, Kathy is loving being a part of such an amazing team that offers a unique, low-stress experience tailored to cat’s needs.

NIKI MOORE

CVN

Niki has always had a passion for animal care, so in 2014 she qualified as a veterinary nurse so she could turn that passion into a career. She was ecstatic to join the team at The Cat Vet, where a cat's health and well being is the top priority.
When Niki has some spare time she is usually doing something outside, such as hiking in the mountains, or walking on the beach.
